DARO Flooring Construction Inc., established in April 2006, is a privately owned and operated company formed out of 20 years of experience and the corporate alliances of different construction companies in the construction industry in Germany.

These consolidated companies have undertaken construction jobs, almost worldwide, in the screeding, tiling, glass mosaic, and natural stone trades.

In early 2006, during the developmental stages of business relations in the Canadian market, it was determined that special, synthetic screed, delivered as a Redi-Mix in concrete trucks, which has been a standard in Germany for more than 25 years, and also used almost everywhere, is not available in the North American Market.

One contemplated why such technologies shouldn’t be introduced to such an industrialized and booming Country. We then got together with the two worldwide, single manufacturers of the special binding agent, and entered into a contract for its export rights. Preceding this, DARO Flooring Constructions was established, with its head office in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

After a brief period of product and system presentations of the Redi-Mix DAROTopp® it was clear that this special type of screed could have a substantial amount of potential in the North American market, resulting in our 2007 expansion into Ontario.

In the meanwhile, DAROTopp® is being used in various applications and is readily recommended by Spec Writers. With 1,000,000 sq ft already installed in Canada from coast to coast in just 1.5 years, the number keeps growing!

Our unique topping is batched by Lafarge North America in Ontario, Manitoba and Quebec, Stresscon and Lafarge in Atlantic Canada, and Burnco Rock Products in Alberta and British Columbia. DARO Flooring Constructions imports the required binder for this unique topping from Europe, and delivers it directly to the concrete plants of our partners. They batch the topping based on the recipe that we developed & invented by using local aggregates. With all of our floor systems, LEED credits are available for materials & resources, indoor environmental quality, no waste management, no cement content as well as energy saving capabilities. DAROTopp® is used in commercial, residential, intuitional, and renovation applications.

We have recently undertaken a new agreement with Lafarge North America for all of Eastern Canada, to change our product name from DAROTopp® to Agilia Screed A, which is exclusive to DAROTopp® floor systems. Lafarge has built a plant in Burlington, Ontario, and has plans to build additional plants, which would also be exclusive to our unique DAROTopp® Floor Systems only.
